Make Room For Roomster by Lisa Keys
If you found your most recent date through a friend of a friend of a friend
thanks to www.Friendster.com
, then possibly www.Roomster.net is the
roommate-matching service that's right for you.
Let's say you're a SWM who doesn't smoke, likes to party, watches "The Simpsons"
and grooves to Led Zeppelin but can't spell their name properly. Is there a
potential roommate out there who is exactly like you?
The short answer is, yes.
Much like any online dating service, Roomster lets members match-make people
based on just-ironic-enough profiles that expound upon members preferences for
everything from music to food to bedtimes.
"Basically, we're using the Friendster model to find a better roommate, someone
you're compatible with," Roomster co-founder John Shriber says.
Those looking for a place to live can search for those with rooms to spare, and
vice versa. Depending on what your priorities are, you can search by age,
location or interest - meaning that it may be possible to find someone with
your penchant for early-morning "Beverly Hills, 90210" reruns, or even better,
find a babe to move into the spare bedroom, thanks to digital photos.
Launched four months ago by Shriber and Roman Zaks, Roomster boasts some 30,000
active members on any given day, Shriber says.
